I Own a Domain, But I Don't Have a Website Yet

1. I already purchased my domain. Can PivotWrk still build my website?

Yes. PivotWrk can build your website and connect the completed site to the domain you already own. You do not need to purchase another domain just because you are starting a website project with us.

2. Do I need to transfer my domain to PivotWrk?

Not necessarily. In most cases, your domain can stay with your current registrar. We may only need access to specific DNS or domain settings so the website can be connected correctly.

3. Will I still own my domain after PivotWrk builds my website?

Yes. Your domain should remain registered in your name or business name. PivotWrk does not need permanent ownership of your domain in order to build or connect your website.

4. What if my domain is registered through GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Cloudflare, or another company?

That is fine. PivotWrk can work with domains purchased through most major registrars. The connection steps vary by provider, but you normally do not need to purchase another domain.

5. What information will PivotWrk need from me?

Depending on your setup, we may need your domain name, the registrar where it was purchased, access to DNS or domain settings, your business information, brand assets, website content, photos, services, products, and any systems that need to connect to the site.

6. I bought a domain but haven't done anything with it. Is that okay?

Absolutely. That is a common starting point. PivotWrk can take the domain you already own and build the digital experience around it.

7. Can PivotWrk help me figure out where my domain is registered?

Yes. If you are unsure where your domain is managed, we can help identify the current registrar and determine what access is needed before connection or migration work begins.

8. Will I need to buy hosting too?

That depends on how your website is built and deployed. PivotWrk will determine the appropriate hosting setup and identify any third-party service or subscription required for your project.

9. What's the difference between my domain and hosting?

Your domain is the website address, such as yourcompany.com. Hosting is the infrastructure where the website itself runs. You can own a domain without having a website or hosting attached to it.

10. Can you connect my website to my domain for me?

Yes. Domain connection and deployment can be included as part of your website setup depending on the PivotWrk service package and technical environment.

11. Can I use a domain I purchased years ago?

Usually, yes, as long as you still own it, the registration is active, and you can access the account or DNS settings.

12. My domain expired. Can PivotWrk recover it?

If the domain is still eligible for renewal or recovery, we can help guide you through the process. Final availability and recovery terms are controlled by the registrar and current registration status.

13. Can I use a domain that currently redirects somewhere else?

Yes. The existing redirect can usually be changed when the new website is ready to launch.

14. Can I keep my domain private?

Domain privacy options are normally managed through your registrar. Where available, privacy protection can help limit the personal registration information shown publicly.

15. I already have business email connected to my domain. Will connecting the website affect my email?

It should not when configured correctly. Business email and website records can coexist on the same domain. Existing mail records should be reviewed before DNS changes are made.

16. I use addresses like info@mycompany.com or support@mycompany.com. Can I keep them?

Yes. Existing business email addresses and aliases can normally remain active while your website is connected, redesigned, or migrated.

17. Can you create business email addresses for my domain?

Business email setup can be added depending on your project and provider. Common addresses include info@, support@, bookings@, sales@, and contact@ on your own domain.

18. Can I change my domain later?

Yes, but it is better to establish the primary domain early. Changing domains later can require updates to the website, email, links, search listings, analytics, advertising, and connected business systems.

I Already Have a Domain and a Website

1. I already have a website. Can PivotWrk still work with me?

Yes. You do not need to be starting from scratch. PivotWrk can evaluate your existing website and determine whether it should be updated, redesigned, rebuilt, expanded, optimized, connected to new systems, or rebranded.

2. Do I have to delete my current website?

No. Your current website can usually remain active while the new or improved version is being prepared, depending on the platform and technical setup.

3. Will my website go offline while you're working on it?

Our goal is to avoid unnecessary downtime. Whenever possible, development and testing are completed separately before changes are made to the live website.

4. Can PivotWrk redesign my existing website without changing my domain?

Yes. Your domain and your website design are separate. You can keep the same website address while completely redesigning the experience behind it.

5. My current website looks outdated. Do I need an entirely new website?

Not always. PivotWrk will determine whether a focused refresh or a complete rebuild is the better investment. A rebuild may be recommended when the current site has major issues with technology, performance, responsiveness, structure, scalability, or functionality.

6. Can you improve just certain parts of my website?

Yes. Depending on scope, we can improve specific areas such as the homepage, navigation, mobile layout, branding, service pages, forms, calls to action, customer journey, images, copy, landing pages, booking, payments, dashboards, analytics, and automations.

7. Can you completely rebuild my website but keep my existing domain?

Yes. This is a common project. Your domain can remain the same while the technology, design, and structure behind the website are completely replaced.

8. I built my site using Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify, GoDaddy, or another platform. Can you still help?

Yes. We will evaluate your current platform and determine whether it makes more sense to improve the existing setup or migrate and rebuild using a different technology.

9. Will you automatically move me away from my current website platform?

No. We only recommend migration when there is a clear business, performance, design, functionality, security, scalability, or operational reason to do so.

10. Can you work with a website another designer or developer created?

Yes. We can review an existing website regardless of who originally created it, provided we have appropriate access and the system can reasonably be maintained or modified.

11. What if I don't have access to my old website?

We first determine what access is missing, such as domain, hosting, administrator, CMS, repository, source files, or email access. If access cannot be recovered, we can determine whether rebuilding is the safer option.

12. What if my previous web designer owns or controls everything?

We would identify that early. Whenever possible, your business should control critical assets such as the domain, hosting, website accounts, business email, analytics, social accounts, payment accounts, and customer data. PivotWrk can help establish a cleaner ownership structure.

13. Can PivotWrk take over management of my existing website?

Website management options can be discussed depending on the technology, condition of the website, required access, and level of ongoing support needed.

14. Can you fix a website that isn't working correctly?

Yes, depending on the issue and platform. We can evaluate broken links, forms, mobile layouts, pages, navigation, integrations, domain connections, deployment, performance, user experience, and third-party services.

15. My website works, but it doesn't look professional. Can you just redesign it?

Yes. A visual and user-experience refresh may be all that is required. We can bring the website into alignment with your brand while improving consistency, presentation, usability, and conversion.

16. Can you redesign my website to match my new branding?

Yes. Website redesign is often part of a brand refresh. We can apply your updated logo, color system, typography, photography direction, messaging, brand voice, and visual identity across the site.

17. Can PivotWrk create my new branding and website together?

Yes. This is often the strongest approach because the identity and website are developed as one connected system instead of separate pieces.

18. Can I keep some parts of my old website?

Yes. Anything that still supports the business can potentially be retained, including content, functionality, photos, pages, integrations, or selected design elements.

19. Will my current content be transferred?

Relevant content can be migrated or rewritten depending on the project. We determine what should be kept, improved, reorganized, rewritten, removed, or expanded.

20. Will you use my existing photos?

Yes, if they fit the new direction and you have the right to use them. PivotWrk prefers authentic, high-quality business photography whenever it is available.

21. Can you add new pages to my existing website?

Yes. Common additions include About, Services, FAQ, Contact, Booking, Portfolio, Case Studies, Client Portal, Artist Pages, Product Pages, Policies, Terms, Privacy, Support, and Careers.

22. Can you add online payments to my website?

Yes. Payment functionality can be integrated when appropriate using supported payment providers. Third-party providers may have their own account requirements, approval processes, processing fees, and terms.

23. Can you add appointment booking?

Yes. Booking functionality can be added and configured around the way your business schedules calls, consultations, services, or appointments.

24. Can you add forms to collect customer information?

Yes. Forms can support contact requests, client intake, quote requests, applications, lead generation, booking, project requests, waitlists, newsletter signups, and other workflows.

25. Can those forms automatically send the information somewhere?

Yes. Depending on the system, form submissions can be routed to email, CRM systems, databases, internal dashboards, automation workflows, and notification systems.

26. Can you add a customer or client dashboard?

Yes. Businesses that need accounts, analytics, downloads, project information, subscriptions, client records, or similar functionality can add a dashboard as a custom development feature.

27. Can you add AI or an assistant to my existing website?

Yes. Depending on your business and technical requirements, conversational assistants and other AI-powered features can be integrated into an existing or rebuilt website.

28. Can you add live chat?

Yes. Live chat or automated chat can be considered as part of the website's customer communication system.

29. Can you connect my website to my CRM?

Yes, depending on the CRM and the integration methods it supports. We can evaluate the best connection method for your workflow.

30. Can you connect my website to my social media accounts?

Yes. Social profiles, sharing features, embedded content, campaign links, and other supported integrations can be incorporated into the website.

31. Can you connect Google Analytics or another analytics system?

Yes. Analytics can be configured so you can better understand website activity, traffic, visitor behavior, conversions, and other performance indicators.

32. Will I be able to see how many people visit my website?

With analytics properly configured, you can monitor important website metrics. The exact information available depends on the analytics platform, consent requirements, and tracking configuration.

Website Ownership & Access

1. Who owns the website after it is completed?

Ownership terms are defined by the project agreement. Client-specific business assets and approved deliverables are handled according to that agreement, while third-party software, platforms, subscriptions, fonts, stock assets, plugins, and licensed technology remain subject to their own terms.

2. Will I have access to my website?

Yes. Businesses should have appropriate access to their critical digital infrastructure. The exact access level can vary based on the website technology and service arrangement.

3. Will PivotWrk lock me out of my website?

No. Our goal is to build a sustainable digital system for the client, not create unnecessary dependency.

4. Do I have to keep paying PivotWrk forever for my website to work?

Not necessarily. Websites commonly rely on recurring third-party services such as domains, hosting, email, databases, premium software, payment processing, storage, APIs, and maintenance. Any recurring PivotWrk service is based on the support or management package you choose.

SEO & Search Engines

1. Will changing my website hurt my Google ranking?

Major website changes can affect search performance if they are handled incorrectly. Important URLs, page structure, content, metadata, redirects, internal links, and other SEO considerations should be reviewed during a redesign or rebuild.

2. Can PivotWrk improve my SEO?

We can build with foundational search-friendly practices and improve website elements that support discoverability. Advanced or ongoing SEO campaigns may be scoped as a separate service.

3. Can I keep my existing page links?

Where appropriate, yes. If URLs need to change, redirects can be used to send visitors and search engines from old URLs to the correct new pages.

Security, Backups & Performance

1. Will my website be secure?

PivotWrk builds with security-conscious practices, but no online system can be guaranteed to be immune from every threat. Security also depends on hosting providers, third-party platforms, account security, software maintenance, passwords, and connected services.

2. Will my website use HTTPS?

Modern production websites should use HTTPS and SSL when properly configured with the domain and hosting environment.

3. Do you back up my existing site before making changes?

When technically possible and appropriate, existing website data should be protected before major modifications or migrations. The exact backup process depends on the platform and access available.

4. Can you make my website faster?

Performance improvements may include optimizing images, code, scripts, fonts, hosting, page structure, asset delivery, caching, and third-party integrations. The solution depends on what is causing the slowdown.

5. Will my website work on phones?

Mobile usability is a core part of modern web design. Websites we build or redesign are developed with mobile, tablet, and desktop experiences in mind.

Project Process

1. What happens after I tell PivotWrk that I already have a website?

We review the current digital setup and determine the strongest path: keep, improve, expand, or rebuild. The goal is not to rebuild unnecessarily; it is to build what your business needs next.

2. Do I need to know anything technical?

No. You do not need to understand DNS, servers, APIs, hosting, repositories, databases, or deployments to work with PivotWrk. We translate the technical requirements into a manageable process.

3. What should I have ready before starting?

If available, have your domain information, existing website link, website and hosting access, logo, brand assets, business information, service or product details, photos, videos, social links, and business email information ready. We can identify anything else that is actually required.

4. Can you look at my website first and tell me what needs to change?

Yes. An existing website can be evaluated for branding, design, usability, mobile responsiveness, customer journey, functionality, messaging, performance, and overall presentation.

5. How do you decide whether I need a redesign or a rebuild?

We evaluate current technology, website age, user experience, mobile performance, branding, page structure, functionality, scalability, maintainability, integrations, and business objectives, then recommend the path that makes the most sense.

6. Can I launch the new version only after I approve it?

Yes. Major redesigns or rebuilds should go through review and approval before the final production launch.

7. Can I see the new website before it replaces my existing one?

Whenever the technology allows it, yes. A preview or staging version can be used so the new experience can be reviewed before it replaces the live website.

8. What happens to my old website after the new one launches?

Depending on the project, the old website may be archived, backed up, replaced, retained temporarily, or decommissioned. The approach should be decided before launch.

Cost & Service Questions

1. Does already owning a domain make the website cheaper?

Owning a domain eliminates the need to purchase a new domain, but most website pricing is based on the strategy, design, development, functionality, integrations, migration work, and support required.

2. Is redesigning an existing website cheaper than building a new one?

Sometimes, but not always. A clean existing system may require less work, while a poorly built or outdated website can require more effort to repair than rebuilding it properly.

3. Do integrations cost extra?

Advanced integrations or custom features may affect pricing. Examples include payments, CRM, client dashboards, AI systems, automation, databases, memberships, custom forms, analytics systems, and third-party APIs. These are identified during project scoping.

4. Will I know what I'm paying before you start?

Yes. Your approved project scope should clearly identify the services and deliverables included in the project and any known third-party costs or recurring services.
